The following is an example of a home plan being "dressed-up" by Allen Halcomb.
                   
We took the above "front elevation" from a set of blueprints and the "3-D model picture" at left and gave these to Allen Halcomb.  We asked Allen to make the model look more "Appalachian" style.  The next picture is what he gave back to us.
       
        
Allen changed the windows, added a metal roof and stacked stone.  He added roof overhangs (called eyebrows).  He changed the front porch roof and added cedar shakes to the dormer. He suggested using board-and batten siding on all other sided areas.
       
      
We followed most of Allen's suggestions, and the result is shown at left.
